WHO WE ARE

LitFin is a specialist in litigation financing with a particular focus on competition law disputes. For example, we are currently working with freight forwarders seeking to recover damages from truck manufacturers on the basis of the truck cartel and from the Federal Republic of Germany for unlawfully excessive toll payments. We are also helping investors in the Wirecard scandal recover lost investments by claiming damages against the Wirecard auditors Ernst & Young. In addition, LitFin has filed claims for damages against MasterCard for unlawfully excessive fees in Belgian courts on behalf of merchants from Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe. The Pesticide Cartel in Germany is another case in which we have already acted for over 1,000 farmers.

In total, LitFin currently finances the assertion of claims and claims for damages amounting to €1.3 billion, making it one of the largest litigation financiers in the EU. We not only finance, but also bring our extensive expertise to the proceedings we manage. LitFin has a proven network of excellent litigators and renowned economists throughout Europe for the evaluation, preparation and, if necessary, judicial enforcement of claims. We work together with law firms such as Pinsent Masons in Germany, Milberg in the UK and STEK in the Netherlands.

We enable our clients to enforce their claims that they would otherwise be unable or unwilling to enforce for financial reasons. LitFin bears all costs related to recovery, court proceedings, including the costs of economic expert opinions and court fees, and in return receives a small share of the success. We work without recovery claims – if the enforcement of the claims is not successful, we receive nothing. So the financial risk lies solely with us – LitFin.
